I’m still pinching myself to believe that spring is here, and the weather is warm.
I have to believe it when I see our garden. Most of our beans are up. Babies are cute – even baby beans. I put our tomatoes in so I have baby tomatoes too. And I have three zucchini plants up and one watermelon. I really hope the watermelon makes it. It’s a joke with the children because I keep trying to grow watermelon and keep failing. One year some animal ate all the seeds.
The children have enjoyed helping me plant the garden and now water it. You will notice our fancy watering can. It’s a milk jug with holes punched in it. It’s one of the “chores” they fight over.
I’ve been busy sewing all week. Tomorrow is our church’s annual Bible conference and I made new dresses for my two youngest daughters. It was a new pattern and fabric I’m not used to working with so the whole project was way out of my comfort zone. My daughters are thrilled though and can hardly wait for morning to put their new girly-girl dresses on. We’ve prepped everyone’s hair tonight so we can do fancy things tomorrow. I enjoy helping my girls fix themselves up.
We are so close to being finished school. By next Friday we will be finished 90% of our work, and we’re all just a little excited about that. I love the routine of school, but I love the freedom to do more of my things in the summer. I hope to go through every room in our house this summer and purge out what we don’t need. I’m also hoping to do quite a bit of sewing starting next week with matching pajama shorts for all my little boys. I found some really cute car fabric.
I hope you’ve had a good week and are enjoying the warmer weather.
