Friday File 3

Healthy Simplicity - Friday File

Another week gone by! I can hardly believe it. We had a good week in school, and I got back to sewing. Sewing puts me in my happy place. I’ve also read some interesting/fun/inspiring things this week. I hope you’ll enjoy them too.

I found this article very interesting. As an addition to what is said here, I read somewhere this week that the average eight-year-old eats more sugar in one year that anyone ate in their entire life a century ago. No wonder diabetes is on the rise.

Why your grandparents didn’t have food allergies…but you do

I love cuddling, tickling and nibbling my baby. In fact, we call his toes “niblets”. Baby skin is so irresistible, and now it seems that someone has done a study to understand why. And bonus – It actually makes us a better parent to nibble on our babies.

Wanting to eat your baby makes you a better parent

I desire for my boys to be gentlemen. Thankfully, they have a good role model in their dad. I’m pretty sure he’s covered all of the points in this article with the possible exception of the first one.

21 Lost Gentleman Traditions That Still Apply Today

I love ThePianoGuys. These guys are amazing. So I included this for fun.

Angels We Have Heard on High

My baby’s getting too big to be carried in my baby wraps. That makes me sad because I miss it. I even wrote a post about it. Having them close just gives you another excuse to do a little nibbling. ☺

Well, finally getting on here to answer 😉
I read your blog a couple of days ago and am getting back to it.
My internet-ing has been researching Dover AFB and learning all I can on tech school and beyond so I can update our FB page for the moms. I’m enjoying this.
Also, we have names of some newbies with the AF that are in medical hold at BMT and so a bunch of moms have asked me for their addresses. We are all writing them and sending Christmas cards.
Plus, I’ve been reading on my Kindle and now Stef is reading all this and asking a bunch of questions 😉

  2. Hi Jen! I have been wanting to leave you comments for like ever! Ha, ha. But I only write emails and comments when I have 2 hands. That doesn’t always happen around here. Oh well. Really loving your blog. So good to see that science has me backed up on ‘eating up my babies’, especially those little piggies (toes). As a matter of fact, before I got on the computer I was eating some lovely 10 month old girly tosies! Yum.

Wow, love the Piano Guys. Just seeing them for the first time.

I know what you mean about time. I read your posts and leave the tab open forever so I can comment and then it gets late and I give up. I’m sure your girly has very edible toes. 🙂 Those PianoGuys are the greatest. I subscribe to their YouTube channel. They’ve done some really amazing arrangements of hymns and popular songs.
