We’re getting ready to go camping this summer. It’s a bit early for the planning, but I have to admit that we made a mistake. We used to go camping fairly regularly about ten years ago. Then for some mysterious reason we stopped, and now we’re starting up again. That’s when we realized our mistake.
We should have never stopped because now our older children are not very interested in going. That makes me sad because for me camping is such a great time to bond as a family and make good memories. Away from the stress of everyday life we can focus more on each other.
So in the interest of having a good camping trip I’ve been researching food and activities and all things camping. Thus what I’m sharing with you this week is going to be all about camping.
First is this post with 19 breakfast ideas. Some of these look so awesome, and let’s face it cooking over a fire and eating is a big part of camping – lots of fun foods.
There are ten great activities for keeping everyone from uttering those dreaded words, “I’m bored”. I plan to go prepared with lots of activities for the little ones, and the big ones if they’ll join in.
Here are some more great food ideas – not just for breakfast but for all day long.
Some tips for staying cool in a tent. Being hot and miserable can make camping not so much fun.
And finally here is a post that has some printable activities for the children. I definitely want to do a scavenger hunt. I know my little ones would love it.
