Men can be very difficult to give a gift to especially if you like to make homemade gifts.
About a year ago I saw an idea on the internet that I thought would be easy to copy. I can’t remember exactly where to give it credit, but I’ve seen it more than one place since then.
The idea is very simple…Buy a frame. Write “I love you because…” on a piece of paper and put it in the frame. Then whenever you want you can write a note on the glass using an erasable marker. Easy-peasy.
I made one for my husband, and he keeps it on his nightstand. I try to write on it every morning when I make our bed. Just some little thing that I love about him or his personality or character. Here’s a sample…
“I love you because…you make me laugh.”
“I love you because…you work so hard to take care of us.”
“I love you because…you read to our children.”
“I love you because…you’re so good looking.”
“I love you because…you let me sleep in.”
I wish I could show you a picture of the frame I made, but we’re in the middle of moving and so much of our stuff is packed already.
I made my own design in my digital scrapbooking program, but you could totally just cut a piece of paper to fit the frame and write on it and/or embellish it with stickers or pictures. A 5 x 7″ frame seems to be a nice size…not too big for a nightstand but not too small for writing on.
In case you’d like to have something you could print up, I made up a couple of designs that you could print for yourself. Just click on the design you want to be taken to Google Drive where you can then print it.
This would be great to display somewhere your children would see it and write notes to them too.
What’s the best gift you ever gave your husband/dad?
