I DO love this song and about 3 1/2 years ago, I had to sing it at a funeral. A pastor (formerly from Maine and had retired to Cheyenne) had past away. I had gone to the hospital to visit with he and his wife the day he died. It was the closest I had come to seeing someone that close to heaven and I was amazed and glorified by his peace and joy!!!
His wife later asked me to sing this song. I assured her I would and be fine with it (after all I can be a professional). I ended up breaking down and bless her heart, she sang it with ME!!!!! The words are just amazing!
Another thing that strikes me as I’m reading the story of Darlene Diebler Rose is that WWII was HORRIBLE and I’m sure so many Christians were on their knees praying. We need to be strong like them as well! The faith from the missionaries in this book, “Evidence Not Seen” is amazing!!!
