Last week we had family friends visiting us for the week so obviously not much was accomplished here other than keeping everyone fed and talking, talking, talking. It was so good to visit with our friends. They have three boys, and all of our children get along with them. There were games, laughter, lots of food, a day trip, watching a movie – all 17 of us. It was just a fun week.
But now this week is the let-down. We’ve buckled down to try to catch up on lost school time, but everyone is feeling a little run down. Today was the worst with me succumbing to a headache. Just one more week though, and then we’ll have a couple of weeks off – I can hardly wait.
Something that’s become a big deal around here is for my oldest daughter to draw pictures for her younger brothers to colour. There’s a lot of supervision to make sure she gets all the details just the way they want it. Here’s a sample of what she did for my toddler and his colouring.
I love the idea in this post for a paper decoration. I think it could have applications outside of Christmas depending on what kind of paper you use.
I love the idea of making rag rugs. I’ve made a couple of small rugs. This post gives excellent, detailed instructions on how to make a beautiful rag rug.
My little guys need some mittens. These would be fun to make.
I’m seriously thinking about making these curtains because we lose a lot of heat through the windows in our house. This would take me out of my comfort zone, but it’s a good thing to be challenged every once in a while.
What’s your favourite thing to do with friends who come to visit?
