I’ve been away from here for a couple of weeks – just enjoying family, but now I’m ready to get back to trying to be an encouragement to others outside my family.
I love this song. I first learned it about twenty-five years ago. Friends of mine wanted to sing it for a special and asked me to play for them. I was enthralled with the song then and still am. The words are so uplifting. There is reason for hope in every verse of this song…
- Jesus died for me, for my sin!
- I have no merit but there is hope in Jesus righteousness!
- He claims me for His own! – Amazing thought.
- This was His plan throughout eternity!
My hope is in the Lord
Who gave Himself for me,
And paid the price of all my sin at Calvary.
For me He died,
For me He lives,
And everlasting life and light He freely gives.
No merit of my own
His anger to suppress.
My only hope is found in Jesus’ righteousness.
And now for me He stands
Before the Father’s throne.
He shows His wounded hands and names me as His own.
His grace has planned it all,
’Tis mine but to believe,
And recognize His work of love and Christ receive.
