I’m going to do something just a little different today. Instead of giving you a hymn, I’m going to give you a couple of samples to whet your appetite to buy some CDs.
These CDs are put out by very dear friends of our family – the Jackson family. They are on deputation to come to Canada (yeah!) as missionaries. Of course, they’ll be on the opposite end of Canada from us, but hey, at least we’ll be in the same country.
They have done a couple of music CDs. One is Bro. Jackson singing a cappella and doing the harmony with himself. The second CD is the entire family singing songs that Bro. Jackson himself wrote. Both CDs are beautiful, and I play them A LOT.
The thing I appreciate is that not only is the music beautiful, but the words of the song really make me think and often convict me to live better for the Lord.
If adding gorgeous, godly music to your home isn’t enough reason to convince you to buy these let me add another reason. As I mentioned, the Jacksons are moving to Alberta, Canada to start a church. The money made from selling these CDs is being used to cover their moving costs. This is a win-win. You get beautiful music plus you help speed a missionary to the mission field God has called him to.
This is one of my favourite songs…(a little bonus – one of our little ones is in the montage)
This song is not on either CD, but it’s an example of Pastor Jackson singing alone…
You can buy these CDs on the Jackson’s website. There is also a book in their “store” written by Pastor Jackson’s mom about the time their family was missionaries in Papua New Guinea. The profits from that book also go toward the Jackson’s moving fund. Our family thoroughly enjoyed reading the stories and being challenged in our Christian walk.
Please consider buying at least one of these items. I know you won’t regret it.
