This has been a fantastic week for me sewing-wise. My husband had his first full week back at teaching security so I had extra time which was a good thing.
Our church is putting together a box to send to a young pastor family in the Philippines. I jumped at the chance to have an excuse to sew. I made a messenger bag for the wife and son (eight years old), a pillowcase dress and purse for the daughter (six years old), shorts for the son and a fabric beaded necklace for the wife. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I designed the purse myself and took pictures so I could share with you all.
It’s also been an exciting time for my middle daughter who launched her new blog about being fashionable and modest at the same time. It is possible. I know she’d love to have you check it out.
This gives me all the excuse I need to keep sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, etc. (Like I needed an excuse!)

and the shorts. I thoroughly enjoyed using this pattern. I’ve made pajama pants before so the basic concept was easy, but these have a pocket. I don’t often do pockets and have never done this style. It felt good to learn something new.
