We sang this song in church yesterday, and even though I was playing the piano and couldn’t concentrate on the lyrics much they still spoke to me.
“Wherever He leads I’ll go” – that’s not always easy. God called my children and I to move so far away after my husband died. I have never question God’s leading in this, but that does not mean it has been easy.
I miss my family and my church family. God has given us a wonderful church family where we are now, but that only eases the hurt. It doesn’t take it totally away.
“He drew me closer to His side” – I cannot begin to testify to the truth of this statement. Over the past two years I have had to learn where my true strength comes from. I cannot rely on any person. I need the Lord so much every day. God has truly used this time in my life to draw me closer to Himself.
“My heart, my life, my all I bring” – How can I seek to give Him any less than my best when He has been so faithful to me. I fail often, but the Lord is faithful to continue to draw me closer me closer to Himself.
Take up thy cross and follow Me
I heard my Master say
I gave My life to ransom thee
Surrender your all today
Chorus:
Wherever He leads I’ll go
Wherever He leads I’ll go
I’ll follow my Christ who loves me so
Wherever He leads I’ll go
He drew me closer to His side
I sought His will to know
And in that will I now abide
Wherever He leads I’ll go
My heart, my life, my all I bring
To Christ who loves me so
He is my Master, Lord, and King
Wherever He leads I’ll go
