We’ve just come through our Canadian Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful visit from friends in the States. The entire weekend was special and comforting to all of us as we faced our first Thanksgiving without my husband.
I’ve finally been able to get some pictures so you can see a couple of the projects I’ve been working on.
First is my knitted temperature blanket. I’m behind (boo hoo). I’m not quite finished August yet. This project is so much fun. I just wish I could get caught up. I’m already planning next year’s though.
Then, I finished my third daughter’s memory quilt using fabric from her dad’s clothes. The flowers in the corner are obviously not from her dad (smile), but they are from another project a couple of years ago. The back is one of her dad’s shirts that she picked before I started cutting up his clothes.
Since I was taking pictures of daughter’s quilt my youngest wanted me to take pictures of his “first quilt” as he calls it. He is just so adorable that I couldn’t refuse him. I wrote a post on how I made one of these quilts for each of my children when they turned two. You can read it here.
Today I took my two youngest guys to Ikea for lunch and a wander through the showrooms. They loved the lunch and had even more fun touching everything they could in all the rooms. We had a lot of fun together. Jonah was really taken by the setup for a one-room apartment. Ethan wasn’t as impressed because there was no bed – only a couch.
We have been given a lot (think boxes and boxes) of apples so we’ve been busy making apple butter, apple cobblers and dehydrated apples. Our kitten loves it when we dehydrate apples. She loves to sleep on top of the dehydrator. Isn’t she cute? She’s sleeping in my lap right now making it difficult for me to type.
I haven’t been on Pinterest much lately so I only have one link to share. It’s a link I shared with my sister about making fabric letters for her toddler to play with and hopefully start to learn her letters.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
